Superior Pedigree Breeding Pigs from South Africa

The Pig Breeders’ Society of South Africa (PBS) was formed on 20 September 1919 and has been affiliated since its inception to the South African Stud Book and Livestock Improvement Association. The objectives of the PBS are to:

  • To bring about an improvement in the general standard of all recognize pig breeds in South Africa.
  • To keep registration and performance records of the pedigrees of purebred boars and sows duly registered through the PBS.
  • To enhance the functional production and economic merit of stud animals through scientific stud breeding.

Selection based on the BLUP of breeding values. Take your choice from a comprehensive gene pool of over 2 000 registered females and over 300 registered boars. We breed them to adapt, reproduce and generate profit.
